Kaisha Thompson

Kaisha joined Duboff Edwards Schachter as an associate in 2022 and maintains a practice in Winnipeg and Ottawa. Kaisha regularly provides advice on professional liability, administrative and health law, construction matters, and commercial litigation matters She also advises First Nations on a variety of issues, including elections, governance and trust law.
Prior to joining Duboff Edwards Schachter, Kaisha spent five years at a national law firm in Ottawa representing clients before the Ontario Divisional Court, Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and the Health Professionals Appeal Review Board. She has presented at conferences on topics related to First Nations trusts and the Crown’s duty to consult and accommodate.
Kaisha sits on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success – National Capital Region. She has been active in politics for more than a decade and acted as a senior adviser to several political campaigns across Ontario. In 2024, Kaisha and her colleagues Evan Edwards and Jonathan Paterson were honoured to receive the Manitoba Bar Association Pro Bono Award for their contributions to public interest legal services in Manitoba.
