Graduating from Dalhousie Law School in 1994, Jurgen joined Duboff Edwards Schachter Law Corporation as an associate in 1995 after being called to the Manitoba Bar that year. He became a partner in 2005, continuing his practice in the areas of Family Law, Child Protection, Civil Litigation and Administrative Law. Jurgen has appeared before all trial and appellate court levels in Manitoba, trial level courts in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before administrative tribunals and inquests under The Fatality Inquiries Act.

Jurgen has recently been chair of the Family Law Section of the Manitoba Bar Association and continues to serve on its Executive Committee. In the past he has served on the boards for the Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools, Ten Ten Sinclair Housing Inc. and his alma mater, St. Paul’s High School.

Prior to attending law school, Jurgen earned Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Manitoba. An avid amateur cyclist, Jurgen competes in dozens of local races each year.
