The lawyers of Duboff Edwards Schachter have significant experience in employment and labour law, both within provincial and federal jurisdictions.

Our practice includes representation of clients in a broad range of industry sectors and all levels of government. We regularly act for employers and employees, primarily representing management-side interests. DES lawyers act as lead negotiators on collective agreement negotiations, as well as in various forms of mediation and conciliation processes. As well, our lawyers regularly provide training seminars to clients dealing with various labour and employment law issues.

The DES team represents clients in matters before the Manitoba Labour Board, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, grievance arbitration panels appointed under collective agreements, the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba Appeal Commission, the Workplace Safety and Health Branch, the Director of Employment Standards and the Public Service Staff Relations Board (Canada). We also regularly appear in the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench and Federal Court of Canada on employment and labour law related matters.
