Murdoch practices in the areas of Corporate Law, Real Estate Law and Estate Law.

Murdoch received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 1951, his Bachelor of Law from the Manitoba Law School in 1955 and received his Queen’s Council designation in 1969. Murdoch joined the Winnipeg Law firm of Duboff Edwards Schachter in 1998.

Murdoch served as provincial president of the New Democratic Party from 1972 to 1974 before becoming a founding member of the Progressive Party. He has been Chairman of the Manitoba Labour Board and held the position for seven years.

With the goal of promoting objective public policy discourse, Murdoch was a founding Director of the Frontier Centre for Public Policy and was also a member of the Manitoba Development Corporation.

Murdoch is a strong proponent of local businesses and charities, serving on the boards of Jory Capital Inc., the Mount Carmel Clinic, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and several private corporations.
